America's Most Miserable Sports Cities — Ranked
LoyalFansUSA ranks American sports cities according to decades of heartbreak, disappointment, and perseverance across the NFL, MLB, NBA, and NHL.
Cities are evaluated over a rolling 40-season window using a proprietary Misery Index that rewards championships and playoff success while penalizing prolonged futility.
Congratulations, Phoenix — you've out-suffered everyone. The sun shines year-round, but championships remain in short supply. Cleveland, don't worry: you're still very much in the conversation.
Use the toggle below to explore America's most miserable Big Market and Small Market sports cities.
Wondering how your city earned its ranking? Visit the "How The Rankings Work" page to see exactly how the Misery Index is calculated.
